Take the new ballet shoe and fold the back of the shoe forward.
1. Insert one end of the elastic on the line of the fold.
2. Sew it on watching carefully not to catch the drawstring inside the binding.
3. Put the shoe on and measure the length of the elastic needed, making sure that the elastic is not too tight and not too loose.
4. Sew the other end as described above.
After class, it is a good idea to wipe your ballet shoes with a damp cloth, fold them and put them into your shoe bag, ready for the next ballet lesson.
